Before I get to know you, here’s a little bit about me!
Jo Humphrey RM BSc (Hons).
Hi I’m Jo! Foremost a Midwife and a Mother.
A qualified midwife with over 12 years experience within MTW Trust and your Birthplus course facilitator.
I have recently taken over the management of Birthplus from the wonderful Chrissie and Karen. Having taught with them over the last year.
Birthplus has been an established Antenatal education program since 2005 with an exceptional reputation. And I feel very privileged to continue the amazing course that they have created.
My full-time work as a Community midwife also includes working in the hospital unit on Delivery suite, Antenatal and Postnatal wards and maternity triage.
I am very passionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period to have an empowering experience. I have facilitated hundreds of births in many settings; from calm waterbirths at home to emergency C Sections in hospital. I regularly work at the Midwife-led Crowborough Birthing Centre. I firmly believe it is possible to have a positive experience regardless of where your birth may take you. I aim to equip you with the knowledge and mindset to enable you to make the best decisions for you and your baby, to alleviate any fears and help you enjoy this special time.
I have also undertaken further studies to perform Newborn medical assessments as well as being a qualified Hypnobirthing instructor and a fully insured Antenatal educator.
I am very excited to get the course back up and running; I love sharing this wonderful course with expectant parents watching as their confidence grows and seeing lifelong friendships form among the attendees.
